ABOUT THRIFT & THRIVE (MEDWAY)

​​Thrift & Thrive (Medway) is a new enterprise dedicated to supporting the Medway community. Our mission is to reduce food waste and minimize landfill while fostering creativity, confidence, and practical skills through recycling, repurposing, and reusing. We provide compassionate, non-judgmental support by offering essentials such as food, clothing, bedding, and companionship during times of crisis. Our services include a free school uniform bank, a community bite bar, hunger relief meals, and programs designed to improve skills and combat social isolation.

Through charity shops, recycling initiatives, inclusive volunteering, and free health and wellbeing services, we create opportunities for everyone to thrive. By collaborating with local agencies, we empower individuals with the knowledge and resources to improve their life chances while providing compassionate, holistic support to our community. We offer essential supplies—such as food, warm clothing, and bedding—along with emotional support during times of crisis and recovery.

 

By working with charitable and statutory partners, we deliver guidance, skills, and knowledge that empower people to make informed choices and improve their life opportunities.

We envision a community where people are empowered during and after times of crisis through sustainable practices such as repair, recycling, and repurposing food and materials. By reducing waste and promoting resilience, we aim to create better life opportunities for individuals and their families.

​Thrift & Thrive’s 'Revival' will be Medway’s first alternative high street shop. Working alongside local organisations, we are creating a shared space for recycling, repair, and repurposing initiatives and events. We aim to reduce waste, encourage creativity, and make sustainable living accessible to everyone.

The Revival will explore rental and sharing models and sell repurposed and reused items at affordable prices — from everyday essentials to walking equipment — so everyone can enjoy the outdoors without unnecessary consumption or cost.

 

The climate crisis is real.

For younger generations, especially, it can feel overwhelming, lonely, and frightening. At Thrift & Thrive (Medway), we are passionate about protecting the environment and our natural world. We believe future generations deserve the opportunity, space, and support to shape a brighter, more sustainable, and hopeful future.

 

Our role is to help them plant those seeds — and watch them grow.

We take action by creating opportunities for recycling, repurposing, and upcycling, building a community of like-minded people who want to make a positive difference. By sharing skills, creativity, and resources, we empower people to rethink waste and value what we already have.
